Dunnage refers to the packaging materials used to safely transport cans and lids, such as plastic pallets, top frames, and tier sheets. At Core Cans, we ask that these materials be returned after use to help maintain sustainability and control costs. Please review our policy below and use the Dunnage Return Form to arrange your dunnage return.
1. Pick up: Request Core Cans to arrange freight for dunnage pickup. We’ll coordinate the pickup with one of our carriers, and freight costs will be invoiced at the time of scheduling.
2. Drop off: You can either return the dunnage to our warehouse or arrange shipping with your preferred carrier.
☐ Stack and secure pallets, top sheets, and slip sheets with plastic wrap or banding straps. Unsecured pieces lost in transit will be invoiced as unreturned. See Guidelines for Preparing Dunnage instructions below.
☐ Fill out the dunnage return form.
a. Select pick up if Core Cans is arranging the pickup, or
b. Select drop off if you’re returning dunnage yourself or using your preferred carrier.
☐ We strongly recommend taking a picture of the BOL and dunnage, and emailing it to logistics@corecans.com or texting it to 916-244-6090.
You must notify us of the amount of dunnage being returned by completing the Dunnage Return Form.
Dunnage is billed on NET-90 terms. You have 90 days to return it for credit. After 90 days, the cost must be paid in full.
Freight costs for returning dunnage are the customer’s responsibility.
Dunnage returned dirty, wet, or damaged will not be credited. Normal wear and tear is acceptable.
Customers without established payment terms must pay for dunnage upfront.
Dunnage must be secured for shipping. Any dunnage damaged or lost due to improper securing will be considered unreturned.
If returning dunnage in your own vehicle, secure it as much as possible during transport.
